Our Story

Where it all began

Tucked into a bend of the Barren River in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Garvin Lane isn’t just a road - it’s a legacy. It’s where the Garvin family lived boldly, loved loudly, and sowed the seeds of what would become generations of creativity, connection, and community. From horseback rides to the country club to chasing an elephant named “Blondie” around a racetrack, life on Garvin Lane was anything but ordinary.

David Garvin and his friend Willard Raymer planted saplings along the family road - small signs of hope for a beautiful future. With time, care, and family at its center, those trees grew strong roots, just as the Garvin family’s values did. All the while, the family found reasons to celebrate big and small. With every celebration, Charlotte Garvin built her reputation as a legendary gifter, finding the perfect memoriam for every occasion and individual.

Rooted in this tradition, founders Kim Garvin Ferrier and Todd Ferrier took the spirit of Garvin Lane - its warmth, whimsy, and entrepreneurial spirit - and began planting seeds of their own. What started as a single needlepoint shop in Santa Monica grew into Lifeguard Press: a global community of partners and brands, built with intention and designed to celebrate all of life’s moments.

Now, Garvin Lane is more than a memory - it’s a hub. A home base. A one-stop shop for gifting, gathering, and celebration. Just like the bend in the river that connects the land on Garvin Lane, Lifeguard Press connects a family of brands.

After years of growth and exploration, we’re returning to where it all began. Back to our roots. Back to Garvin Lane.

Welcome home.
